The Exhibit Team have reviewed all of the applications and are delighted at the response to Best in Show this year – almost double last year’s number of applications! The quality of the work, which is broad in range – from short films and animations to radio documentaries, music tracks and sonic soundscapes to websites, multi platform games, mobile apps and interactive multimedia stories – is impressive and remains high year-on-year.
We are now delighted to announce that the shortlist is available to view here. The selected work will now be sent on to the judges from the participating companies who will review the applications and select an intern from them to join their company for a four week work placement.

Best in Show:2011 is the 5th year of The Digital Hub’s Best in Show competition. The initiative invited students to submit their final projects to The Digital Hub’s exhibit team for review by a panel of industry experts. Since April of this year students from all over Ireland have been sending details of their work to the exhibit team at The Digital Hub in the hope that their final year projects will be deemed the ‘best’. The students whose work is the most innovative and accomplished can avail of an opportunity to gain work experience, facilitated by The Digital Hub, with a leading company in their field – Animation, Audio & Music Production, Digital Design, Film & Video Production or Multimedia.
The class of 2011 will face significant challenges in entering the workforce at present and any opportunity to gain solid work experience and an excellent reference for their CV will give them an advantage when applying for jobs. Companies which provide relevant work experience can also benefit from having an extra pair of hands – newly qualified and enthusiastic - to help with projects. Small business and recent graduates can learn from each other in a mutually beneficial and properly managed programme.
