Crowd-funding Ireland's Creativity: www.fundit.ie

A new venture called ‘Fund It’ aimed at helping people with creative ideas & projects raise money to put their ideas into action is being launched later this month.

The concept is known as crowd-funding, and it is a new way to raise finance for creative people, groups or organisations.

The website will launch in late Feb 2011. A holding page to register your interest is currently online at www.fundit.ie.

Project/idea submissions from a wide range of categories are being sought, including:

  • art
  • craft
  • design
  • events
  • fashion
  • film & tv
  • food
  • games
  • media & publishing
  • music
  • performance
  • science & technology

How it works:

  1. Set your target amount
  2. Submit a project via the website
  3. Craft some rewards for different amount of money you wish people to pledge in compliance with our guidelines
  4. The project goes live online
  5. The project creator (you!) use your social network (email, facebook, twitter etc) to spread the word
  6. People ‘like’ your project
  7. People choose how much to pledge including a reward
  8. If your project meets its target within timeframe you choose, you get your money (less a wee bit for us to provide the service).
  9. If your project doesn't meet the target in the time, project fails and nobody's card gets charged.
